I love the delicate flowers that come out of such menacing cactus plants in this Sonoran Desert where I live. This is the native Prickly Pear Cactus flower. They come in various shades of yellow to red to orange. The pod that holds this flower will become the fruit that so many animals of the desert enjoy.
