The Super Moon of August 2014 rising up through an arch in Arches National Monument, Utah. The sun setting behind the viewer, is throwing it's colors onto the clouds behind Delicate Arch. The cliffs are glowing in the mauve light that you see only in the southwest landscape just before the sun goes down. This entire oil painting was done with several shapes and sizes of palette knives.

I'm a self taught painter (for 40+ yrs) who adores the expansive landscapes of the Southwestern United States, the reflective waters of Lake Powell, the tender desert cactus flowers, and the glorious monsoon cloud formations.
