Before the winter rains hit the Sonoran Desert, it appears a golden hue, very dry from the long summer heat. The Superstition Mountain has had many tales told, of the un-found Lost Dutchman's gold. People still seek the treasure, hoping to get rich on the stores supposedly hidden near the Weaver's Needle on the north side of the mountain.

I'm a self taught painter (for 40+ yrs) who adores the expansive landscapes of the Southwestern United States, the reflective waters of Lake Powell, the tender desert cactus flowers, and the glorious monsoon cloud formations.
