On the back roads of New Mexico, I found this wonderful example of Spanish history. Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located in the little town of Nambee. Like many other missions of the southwest, it is the center of life for the early settlers, converting the local Indians to their religion and lifestyle. I found the structure of this one quite fascinating for a subject to paint with it's cubic style, recently re-coated with adobe.
