Description
The south face of the Superstition Mountain is splendid in the autumm setting sun. Abundant rainfall has transformed the desert from dry brown to lush green. The Peralta brothers from Mexico, searched these hills for gold at the turn of the century, and were killed on the flat, first step of the mountain by the local superstitious Indians. Only one brother escaped, to return home to tell the tale. They were found laying next to their gear, their dead donkeys, and their treasure of gold.

Cheryl, You capture the lush Sonoran desert like few others. This reminds me of all our trips to Canyon and Apache lakes!
